Volunteer at Strumpshaw Steam Museum

Strumpshaw Steam Museum is run by volunteers. We are always grateful or more help, especially when hosting special events. Cleaning, painting, carpentry, engineering, gardening, serving in the café and shop, producing interpretive boards for the exhibits, stewarding and welcoming visitors are just some of the tasks our volunteers do. We also extend a warm welcome to proficient organists.

Most of the maintenance and restoration work is done by ‘The Saturday Gang’. If you would be interested in joining our eccentric band of jolly helpers, please speak to any volunteer or contact us through the website. The only qualification is a good sense of humour and a willingness to work as part of a team.
