Strumpshaw Steam Museum Statement

Due to the Coronavirus it has been decided to keep the museum closed for the rest of the season. We would like thank all our volunteers for all their efforts over the last year. We would also like to thank all our supporters and followers for the emails and messages; it helps to keep our spirits up in this disappointing time. We will now concentrate on working on the museum to improve your enjoyment when you visit us next year. Visit our Facebook page for updates, and our events page

A museum for all to enjoy

Welcome to Strumpshaw Steam Museum! We have Steam Engines, 100-ton working Beam Engines, Narrow Gauge Railway, 1930s Fairground, Mechanical Organs and Memorabilia.

We have our very own gift shop for souvenirs and mementos. Our cafeteria is newly furnished and is ideal for cups of tea or coffee and soft drinks, with a selection of cakes and pastries. We also welcome dogs on leads in the Museum and on countryside walks. We hope you like our new website, and hope to see you soon.
